This painting was painted in the studio from a photograph my sister took on her trip to Ireland years ago. The boats stand out against a vibrating and luminous dark wall of an old Irish castle. I had a wonderful time painting daubs of color in a post-impressionist style called pointillism. Famous artists like Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Signac used this technique to further push impressionism into the beginnings of expressionism. This piece has lovely movement and luminous shadows on the wall, I really love this piece!
