Here’s a picture of my neighborhood from out my front window. The sun was hitting the neighbors banked hill with some beautiful light greens! I don’t usually see light green in snow but maybe it’s a thing?
This painting represents a big step in the right direction for me. I learned a ton through it. Paintings go through an ugly stage where you just don’t know if it’s gonna work out. This one lived in that ugly stage for a long time. I just about gave up on it. But I kept working through the issues it was presenting and it eventually started working. I learned a lot about distance in a painting and squinting to see the most subtle differences in value. I definitely exaggerated the values a bit to make the painting make sense for me.
I hope you like it!
